The Varsity Girls Basketball team kicked off the 2025-26 campaign in convincing fashion with a 66-26 victory over Our Lady of the Lake at home Tuesday night. The Panthers outscored the Lakers in every quarter and held Our Lady of the Lake to single digits in three of the frames. The Panthers got out of the gate quick, leading 22-5 after the first frame and took a 38-15 lead going into the break. In the second half the Panthers continued the defensive pressure, holding the Lakers to just 11 second half points. Eleven different Panthers found the scoring column tonight led by Isabella Bultema's 18 points and Daijahnae Hatcher's 13. Rounding out the scoring was Marissa Lowell 7, Kelsie Gaston 6, Miranda Lowell 6, Addison Smith 4, Gianna Berry 4, Emma Owens 2, Moeko Crago 2, Kate Kostrzewa 2, and Leila Liberto Taylor 2. The Panthers move to 1-0 on the season. They open up SAC Lakeshore divisional play on Friday at Allegan. Tip off is scheduled for 6:00pm.
