Soccer (Girls Varsity) fall short in Bangor Invitational

Girl’s Varsity soccer traveled away to Bangor Saturday morning for the Bangor Invitational. The Panthers would face the Covert Bulldogs in the first game. The team came out strong and took the early lead 4 minutes into the game with a goal by Marley Alsup. Just minutes later, Katelyn Brown would add the second for the Panthers. Aaliyah Hernandez would seal the victory for the team with the third goal via a Natalaya Desjardin assist. The Panthers would face the Vikings in the championship match. The team was aggressive and held the hosts early on but two key mistakes would be enough for Bangor to take a quick two goal lead in the first half. In the second half, the momentum changed and the Panthers created multiple opportunities in front of goal but were unlucky to find the back of the net. Stephany Villarreal was key in helping the team stay compact in the midfield and created many on goal opportunities. The Panthers continued to push forward, but In the end, the Panthers would come up short. The team will travel to Lawton on Monday afternoon for their last regular season game.
